Summary:A new species of the hermit crab genus Parapagurodes, is described and illustrated. This is the taxon described previously as simply Pagurus sp. from British Columbia, and as an 'undescribed species of Pagurus' from California. It is the first report of this genus from British Columbia, and the first complete description of its first stage zoea. A key to the species of the genus is provided.
