AROMATIC COMPOUNDS FROM CULTURED LICHEN MYCOBIONTS OF THREE GRAPHIS SPECIES

Summary:Spore-derived mycobionts of three lichen species, Graphis apriens, G. handelii and G. awaensis, were cultivated on a malt-yeast extract medium supplemented with 10% sucrose and their metabolites were investigated. Two new isocoumarin derivatives 1 and 2 as well as a new thiophene derivative 3 were isolated along with six known compounds. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods.
