The robustness verification of the D-VHS trick play using dynamic measurement method for evaluating mechanism

Summary:In the D-VHS MPEG-2 mode, tape-running fluctuation is a serious problem, because trick play data are allocated in an exclusive area. We have developed a new method for evaluating the mechanism. It enables defining the ideal distribution of the D-VHS trick play data on the tape. The ideal balance of both mechanism accuracy and data distribution secures enough robustness and facilitates mass production.
