Summary:Abstract Ensure access for all to adequate, safe, and affordable housing and basic services is one of the targets for achieving SDGs goal 11, which should be realized by 2030. This study aims to examine the achievement of SDGs target 11.1 in two national metropolitan areas located in West Java, Indonesia, namely the Bodebekjur Urban Area and the Greater Bandung Urban Area. This study used secondary data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, then processed and analysed through a descriptive-quantitative approach. Furthermore, the data compared to the sectoral target of housing adequacy in the National Medium-Term Development Plan 2020-2024 as the national tools in achieving the SDGs. Based on the 2016-2020 time-series data, the results showed that the Bodebekjur urban area on average had higher achievements of national SDGs target 11.1 rather than Greater Bandung urban areas. In addition, the lowest achievement indicator in both urban areas that should be considered is the access to safe drinking water. Other indicators that need concern in achieving national targets of SDGs target 11.1 in the Greater Bandung urban area are sufficient living areas and access to sanitation.
