Summary:Nutrition support is an essential part of the management of acute and chronic pancreatitis. In the past, parenteral nutrition has been used to allow pancreatic rest while providing nutrition support to patients who have acute pancreatitis. Observational studies also have demonstrated a benefit in patients who have chronic pancreatitis.
