Summary:Abstract Currently, pollution of aquatic ecosystems of diverse nature affecting the stability of fish population growth and, consequently, the sustainability of the ecosystem as a whole, is of special concern. The most common species of the Eurasian continent is the silver carp Carassius gibelio inhabiting lakes and rivers. The study of morphological features of the species makes it possible to reveal changes in the quality of water in reservoirs caused by various environmental factors.
