Summary:RESFAL, a software tool that can check on the behavior of resonant systems with regard to compensation coil turning and fault detection is described. In resonant grounding, the compensatory effect of the coil minimizes the fault current and allows service to be maintained during a fault. The software is developed using MATLAB/Simulink computer tool with a modular structure. RESFAL allows accurate modeling of distribution systems, simulation of fault conditions, and verification of resonant-grounding coil tuning.
