Summary: | Reaction of AgX2 (X = NO3-, BF4-) with bis[4-(pyridine-2-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylthio]methane (2-bppt) gave two macrocyclic dinuclear silver coordination compounds [Ag2{?-(2-bppt)}2]X2 (X= NO3- or BF4-). Non-classical hydrogen bonding interactions as well as weak aromatic stacking forces are involved in their packing structures. Both compounds show intense photoluminescence governed principally by the 2-bppt ligand itself. |
