Summary: | Calcium-modified lead titanate extruded and isostatically pressed ceramics have been studied, for the first time, by depth profile Auger electron spectroscopy. The results show the high potential of the technique to determine the composition of inter- and intragranular fracture surfaces. Two different mechanisms of Pb enrichment of the fracture surfaces are observed. Finally, the results are compared with a model of preferential sputtering of the different oxides. 14 ref.--AA |
