Summary:A new method of forming coatings containing copper nanoparticles and the products of polyethylene thermal destruction is suggested. The method comprises the heat treatment of the two-layer copper acetate-polyethylene system deposited in a vacuum using low-energy electron flux. The effect of the medium composition and the annealing temperature on the structural and phase state of the copper nanoparticles and the matrix is determined. The high antibacterial activity of the heat-treated surfaces against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 is shown. A new method of forming coatings containing copper nanoparticles and the products of polyethylene thermal destruction is suggested.
