Summary:Plant nutrient dynamics mediated by the addition of soil organic matter and microbial populations in soil. Sulphur (S) is one of the important plant nutrients and deficiency limits the growth and yield potential of crops. Delivery of bentonite S in addition graded levels of FYM enhanced available S and arylsulphatase activities in soil. Increasing the incubation period enhanced the mineralization kinetics of organic matter and enhanced the soil S. Addition of FYM from 2.5 to 5 t/ha with graded application of bentonite S enhanced 14.86% available S and 82.54% arylsulphatase in soil. Experimental result showed that application of bentonite S (20 kg/ha) can be applied through the FYM @ 5 t/ha for better availability for crop plant. These research findings are much useful for S application in saline soils through bentonite.
