Summary:Organic ECDs are traditionally fabricated by assembling the separated working and counter electrodes. The process is usually complicated and the device shapes are greatly limited. We put forward a new simple route, called inner electropolymerization, to prepare ECDs by electrochemical polymerization of EC monomers inside the device cell. Large size ECDs with various shapes and excellent electrochromic performances are fabricated successfully. Inner-electropolymerization strategy is put forward to prepare organic ECDs by electrochemical polymerization of EC monomers inside the device cell. Large size ECDs with various shapes and excellent electrochromic performances are fabricated successfully.
