Summary: | New Pb(II) complex with fluorine-containing functionalized β-diketonate cis-bis-(1,1,1-trifluoro-5-methoxy-5-methyl-hexane-2,4-dionato)lead(II), Рb(CF3C(O)CHC(O)C(CH3)2OCH3)2 has been synthesized. The crystal structure of the compound is molecular built of neutral PbL2 molecules having typical nonplanar structure. The lead atom coordinates four oxygen atoms of two bidentate β-diketonate ligands which are in cis-position. Molecules of PbL2 combined to form centrosymmetric dimers through donor atoms of oxygen with Pb⋯Pb distance of 4.112 Å. These dimers form MOF structure in the crystal by means of bridging methoxy-groups. The obtained compound quantitatively sublime in a vacuum (130 °С, P = 10−2 Torr). Thermal properties of the compound in the condensed and gas phases are discussed in comparison with those of relative Pb(II) and Cu(II) β-diketonates.
Molecules of new lead(II) complex with functionalized beta-diketonate combine to form dimeric associates sharing several chelating oxygen atoms. Dimeric associates form 2D coordination network in the crystal by means of bridging methoxy-groups in the terminal substituent of the ligand. The compound can be sublimed under heating in a vacuum being dimeric in the gas phase. [Display omitted]
•Volatile Pb(II) complex with fluorinated methoxy-substituted β-diketonate ligand was obtained.•Molecules of the complex forms dimeric associates both in crystals and vapor.•The dimers form 2D-framework crystal structure via bridging methoxy-groups.•Condensed phase thermolysis yields lead fluoride while CVD results in lead-metal film. |
