Optimization of Anthracite Calcination in Electric Furnaces

The change in the physicochemical properties of anthracite on calcination at 400–1600°C is studied. The temperature dependence of anthracite’s electrical resistivity is determined. On that basis, the optimal geometric and electrical parameters of the calcining furnace are calculated. In the calcinat...

Summary:The change in the physicochemical properties of anthracite on calcination at 400–1600°C is studied. The temperature dependence of anthracite’s electrical resistivity is determined. On that basis, the optimal geometric and electrical parameters of the calcining furnace are calculated. In the calcination of anthracite in the proposed 500-kW electric furnace, its productivity is increased by 26.9%, while the power consumption is decreased by 21.3%.
