Summary:This study aims to provide an overview of research developments and trends in SOE’s fraud publications as well as to explain various variables commonly associated with fraud. This research method was a systematic literature review. The dataset comprises 41 research articles published between 2014 and 2023 sourced from Scopus.com. The analysis is confined to articles that include the keyword “fraud” and “State Owned Enterprise” within the subject areas of Business, Management and Accounting; Economics, Econometrics and Finance; and Social Sciences. Further restrictions were applied to the article type, journal, and language, with only English-language articles considered. Data analysis was conducted using bibliometrics with the VOS viewer application. Studies on fraud have increased over the past decade, and have been published in various countries. This study highlights articles with the highest citation counts, which can serve as reference points based on current trends. This study also reveals that research on fraud within state-owned enterprises remains exceedingly scarce. Proxies for measuring the accuracy of fraud models, theory used, are continually evolving in response to changes in fraud dimensions, organizational complexity, and industry types. This study maps the literature review on fraud in SOE in all publications in Scopus. The limitations of fraud in SOE are the absence of industry separation and some sample characteristics. In addition, fraud measurements in several countries are relatively the same. Therefore, this study cannot discuss the various attributes of fraud extensively.
