Summary:We use the calculative width to analyze the influence of the slope on the horizontal bearing capacity of a pile. The calculative width is obtained via an equivalent conversion of the m-value from full-scale tests, the soil pressure distribution from model tests, and the integral of the soil displacement of a numerical model. The physical tests show that the calculative width decreases with increasing slope, while the numerical analysis shows the opposite trend. It is necessary to consider this correlation in the design of the horizontal bearing capacity of a pile.
