Summary:Design and test results of a superconducting rectifier for the charging of superconducting magnet systems are presented. Cylindrically shaped self-switching elements (cryodiodes) are used in the design. The operational frequency of the rectifier is 50 Hz. Tests were also conducted in the frequency range from 1 to 100 Hz. The rectifier provided charging for a superconducting load up to 450 A. The main advantage of such a rectifier is the absence of a driving system.
