Summary:A workshop, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, was convened in September 2001 to evaluate the current knowledge in neurological Lyme disease. The meeting was centered into discussion of both clinical and basic aspects of the disease. Participants included researchers from the fields of infectious diseases, neurology, rheumatology, autoimmunity and basic immunology, largely but not exclusively focused on Lyme disease. This report summarizes the presentations made at the meeting.
