Summary:Neurological manifestations associated with leptospirosis are uncommon with only a few cases reported so far. The present case is of a 65-year-old man with a severe form of leptospirosis, complicated by acute renal failure, jaundice and femoral mononeuropathy. During the course of his hospitalisation, he developed a weakness of his left leg and sensory deficit over his left thigh along the femoral nerve distribution. A nerve conduction velocity study confirmed femoral neuropathy. No other cause for neuropathy could be elicited. His neurological deficits significantly improved with treatment of leptospirosis.
