Summary:Propargyl radical is a very important free radical in organic synthesis. The tautomerization with the allenyl radical enables the diverse reactivities, and then, propargyl compounds and allenes can be obtained. Because of its properties, how to control the chemical selectivity and enantioselectivity is the key in the radical propargyl functionalization. In this review, the reactions involving propargyl radicals in recent years are summarized according to the means for the production of propargyl radicals, different reaction types, and asymmetric catalytic transformations. Propargyl radical is one of the important intermediates in organic synthesis due to its rich and diverse reactivity. In this review, the reactions involving propargyl radicals in recent years are summarized according to the means of producing propargyl radicals, reaction types, and asymmetric catalytic transformations.
