Summary: | Abstract
An analysis was made of the electric area—the time integral of the electric field strength—of pulses that occur during transition radiation when charged particles cross the interface between two media with different electromagnetic characteristics. Exact expressions are obtained for the longitudinal and transverse (radial) components of the electric area, which determines, in the case of extremely short pulses, the effectiveness of their impact on micro-objects. |
