Summary: | To decrease the Al2O3 sintering temperature and modify the bioactivity of implants, the low melting point A/W bioglass was selected to prepare Al2O3-A/W bioglass coatings, through a tape casting process. The experiment showed that A/W bioglass reacts with water during ball milling and the pH value of slurries is always changed. Although some compositions of bioglass evaporate at the sintering temperature, 99.17% relative density Al2O3-10 wt% A/W tape sintered at 1300 C was achieved. The result indicated that it was possible to prepare the bioactive A/W-Al2O3 coating layer by tape casting. 29 refs. |
