Summary:To raise the spectral efficiency, network coded automatic repeat request (NCed ARQ) has been proved to be a promising scheme. In this letter, we extend the NCed ARQ with reverse-link assistance to include hybrid-ARQ (HARQ). We also consider a practical scenario where the receivers use a training phase to estimate the channels. The downlink throughput expressions are derived for an arbitrary number of users in continuous Rayleigh fading channels. The numerical results match our mathematical derivations and show that the downlink throughput is greatly improved by the combination of RLA and HARQ.
