Summary:The problem of electric and stress state in an orthotropic electroelastic space containing an arbitrarily oriented ellipsoidal inclusion under homogeneous force and electric loads is considered. The solution of the problem is obtained using the Eschelby’s equivalent inclusion method generalized to a piezoelectric anisotropic space. Applying the approach to a spheroidal cavity in an electroelastic transversely isotropic material for which the exact solution is known confirms its effectiveness. Numerical analysis are carried out and the distribution of stresses in the material over the surface of the triaxial ellipsoidal cavity for its different orientations under tension is studied.
