Summary:MXene/nanocellulose composite films have received special attention by combining the characteristics of emerging two-dimensional (2D) inorganic nanosheets and one-dimensional (1D) organic nanofibers. In recent years, the research progress of MXene/nanocellulose composite films has been rapid, with good performance and application prospects. Herein, we criticize the developments of MXene/nanocellulose composite films. Firstly, the synthesis methods of MXene/nanocellulose composite films are reviewed. Secondly, their various applications are summarized, including electromagnetic interference shielding, sensor, energy, environmental field. The interaction mechanism between 2D inorganic MXene and 1D organic nanocellulose has received special attention. In addition, the current challenges and development directions potential for MXene/nanocellulose films were also proposed. It is expected that there will be rapid development of MXene/nanocellulose composite films.
