Using of the Cross-Polarization Effect in Microwave Inspection Systems

It is shown that the cross-polarization effect using allows to increase the probability of detecting hazard objects (weapons, explosives) on the human body and construct inspection systems working without limit on human flow and without explicit interaction with inspection’s objects. The system cont...

Summary:It is shown that the cross-polarization effect using allows to increase the probability of detecting hazard objects (weapons, explosives) on the human body and construct inspection systems working without limit on human flow and without explicit interaction with inspection’s objects. The system containing several transmitters and receivers working in 8–18 GHz frequency band was designed, including antennas having high level of cross-polarization isolation.
