Magnetoelasticity of R2Co13.6Si3.4 (R = U, Lu)

The spontaneous molecular magnetic moment M(s) = 5.15 mu(B) and the Curie temperature Tc = 208 K of the uniaxial ferromagnet U2Co13.6Si3.4 are considerably lower than that of the isostructural compound Lu2Co13.6Si3.4. The magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of both compounds show no evidence of a...

Summary:The spontaneous molecular magnetic moment M(s) = 5.15 mu(B) and the Curie temperature Tc = 208 K of the uniaxial ferromagnet U2Co13.6Si3.4 are considerably lower than that of the isostructural compound Lu2Co13.6Si3.4. The magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of both compounds show no evidence of a U-sublattice contribution to the magnetism.
