Summary:The article focuses on the problem of ensuring the required parameters for gas-air mixture in light load and idle modes. A mathematical modeling of the process in the gas-air duct of the diesel generator 1-PDG-4 was conducted during air blow-off in compressor and throttling at the diesel inlet. It was found that conversion of locomotive engines to gaseous fuel at idle speed can meet the required stoichiometric ratio of gas-air mixture only if air throttling processes at the engine inlet are combined with the engine in the shut-down mode of a cylinder bank.
