Crystal structure of a carboxylate-bridged one-dimensional linear chain polymer N-salicylidene-2-amino-phenylacidato copper(II) complex

A novel chain complex has been synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction technique. The crystal structure determination of C 14H 9CuNO 4·CH 3OH reveals that the local coordination geometry around Cu(II) is a tetrahedrally distorted square planar coordination and the C...

Summary:A novel chain complex has been synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction technique. The crystal structure determination of C 14H 9CuNO 4·CH 3OH reveals that the local coordination geometry around Cu(II) is a tetrahedrally distorted square planar coordination and the C 14H 9CuNO 4·CH 3OH is bridged by carboxylate oxygen atom to form an infinite one-dimensional linear chain. The crystal is a monoclinic, space group P2(1) with a=9.6650(19) A ̊ , b=7.1280(14) A ̊ , c=9.925(2) A ̊ , α=90°, β=98.39(3)°, γ=90° and Z=2.
