single-crystal X-ray and powder diffraction analyses, elemental analyses (EA), FT-IR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Complexes

. Fluorescence measurements indicate that

exhibit fast, sensitive, and selective luminescence quenching responses towards Cr
2
O
7
2−
/CrO
4
2−
in an aqueous solution. The limit of detection for Cr
2
O
7
2−
/CrO
4
2−
ions were estimated to be 0.51 and 0.60 ppm for
2
(0.89 and 1.03 ppm for
4
), respectively, which are comparable to those reported for the CP-based fluorescent probes that can simultaneously detect Cr
2
O
7
2−
/CrO
4
2−
in aqueous environments. Moreover,
2
and
4
can be easily regenerated after the detection experiments, which is indicative of the excellent recyclability. All these results suggest that complexes
2
and
4
are highly selective and recyclable luminescence sensing materials for the quantitative detection of Cr
2
O
7
2−
/CrO
4
2−
anions in aqueous solutions.
