Surface magnetostatic spin wave bright spatial and temporal envelope solitons in metal-ferrimagnetic waveguide structures

Summary:A theoretical analysis of the possibility of generating bright magnetostatic surface spin wave spatial, or temporal envelope solitons in yttrium iron garnet thin film/dielectric/metal plate structures is presented. The analysis, which is based upon the standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation, employs coefficients in the form of analytical expressions obtained from the appropriate dispersion equations. It is shown that only bright magnetostatic surface temporal solitons can be expected in such a structure.
