Competitive immunoassay (Cat-EIA), a helpful technique for catalytic antibody detection. Part I

A competitive immunoassay procedure for the screening of catalytic antibodies is reported. This screening approach (Cat-EIA) is a modification of the well-known Cat-ELISA technique avoiding the substrate modification step. It has been developed for a bimolecular reaction and has been tested on a hig...

Summary:A competitive immunoassay procedure for the screening of catalytic antibodies is reported. This screening approach (Cat-EIA) is a modification of the well-known Cat-ELISA technique avoiding the substrate modification step. It has been developed for a bimolecular reaction and has been tested on a high number of hybridoma clones. The current study explores for the first time the utility and feasibility of this method for the early detection of catalytic antibodies. A new procedure for the early detection of catalytic antibodies was evaluated on a bimolecular reaction.
