CW Thomson scattering from a low electron density hydrogen plasma using a photon counting technique

Thomson scattering from a low electron density (3×10 12cm −3) stationary hydrogen plasma was performed using a 3 watt CW argon ion laser along with a photon counting technique. An estimation is given for the laser power required for CW Thomson scattering in pulsed plasma experiments.
