Summary:As a result of the characteristic of lightweight, outstanding chemical stability and corrosion resistance, carbon-based aerogels and foams have made great progress in electromagnetic protection. In this paper, the latest research progress in carbon-based aerogels and foams for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding is summarized and analyzed, including the mechanisms of different carbon nanostructures and the factors of electrical conductivity and dielectric properties, magnetic property, density, thickness and structural morphology on the EMI shielding performance of the carbon-based materials. In the end, the development trend and future prospect of carbon-based aerogels/foams are also outlined. [Display omitted]
