Excitonic and non-excitonic high excitation luminescence from CdS

High excitation luminescence of CdS exhibits lines of biexcitonic decay to An=1 and An=2 (P-line); the latter showing magnetic field splitting analogous to that of the final state. The evidence of e-h-plasma (Q-line) at higher excitations is supported by as-expected shift of its red border and analo...

Summary:High excitation luminescence of CdS exhibits lines of biexcitonic decay to An=1 and An=2 (P-line); the latter showing magnetic field splitting analogous to that of the final state. The evidence of e-h-plasma (Q-line) at higher excitations is supported by as-expected shift of its red border and analogous behaviour of Q in crystals, excitonic structure of which is suppressed by high Ga doping. Stimulation effects on line shape are qualitatively discussed.
