Summary:The Tanjiaba tunnel lies in Hurongxi highway in Hubei Province. There are some middle karstified soluble rocks and a fish pool above the tunnel. To avoid the disaster of water inrush into the tunnel, risk evaluation is necessary to guide the construction. Fuzzy mathematics model is put forward to distinguish potentially dangerous parts along the tunnel. Use the fuzzy mathematics model differentiated the tunnel into 4 ranks of dangerous parts according to risk index. It is applied in the Tanjiaba tunnel and practice approves that the model are useful.
