Summary:Embolism of the right middle cerebral artery regularly failed to induce clinical or electrical seizure activity during acute ischemia in primates. This negative correlation casts some doubt on the popular interpretation of seizures at the outset of clinical stroke as evidence of cerebral embolism. Chez les primates, l'embolie de l'artère cérébrale moyenne droite n'entraîne habituellement aucune activité critique clinique ou électrique au cours de l'ischémie aiguë. Cette donnée nétagive jette quelques doutes sur l'interprétation populaire suivant laquelle la survenue de crises à l'issue d'attaques cliniques témoignerait d'une embolie cérébrale.
