T − Po2 − x phase diagram of BaO(1− x) − BaO2 ( x) − O2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) system

Summary:The experimental isobars have been plotted by means of thermogravimetry in the range of oxygen pressures 0.02 ÷ 0.2 MPa at 900÷1400 K for the BaO  BaO 2  O 2 system in which it was proposed that the solid components BaO and BaO 2 have restricted mutual solubility. The calculation of the equilibrium diagram of the system has been made using the model of subregular solutions and the parameters of mixing energy for this model were determined from the experimental data. The values P o2 crit = 12.5 MPa, T crit = 1575 K and x crit = 0.35 have been determined for the critical point of solubility above which a continuous series of solid solutions are likely formed. Isobars and isotherms have been calculated in a wide range of P o2 and T.
