Summary:Wire Electro Discharge Machining (WEDM) is a non-traditional process to produce parts with intricate shapes and profiles such as molds, punch and dies. AISI P20 is a special purpose tool steel used to produce plastic molds and dies. The material for the die should have desired properties like higher wear resistance, toughness and hardness that is difficult to machine. Thus, attempts are made to machine P20 with WEDM by varying Pulse on time (Ton), Pulse off time (Toff), Peak current (Ip) and Spark gap Voltage (Sv) to study the Kerf Width (KW) and Material Removal Rate (MRR)
