Summary:In this paper, a 2-D photonic crystal double ring resonator based biosensor has been designed for the detection of chikunguniya virus through normal and infected plasma, platelets, red blood cell & uric acid in blood. The refractive index of whole blood is a function of wavelength, it constitutes such as plasma, platelets, RBC and uric acid for sensed transmittance, quality factor and power efficiency. The resonant peak of the structure shifting from high to low refractive index of blood component shows the sensitivity of the material. In case of chikungunya, It`s also observed that it has a low quality factor (60.12), high transmission efficiency (98 %) and good sensitivity (3.43 × 103nm/RIU). In case of chikungunya, FDTD software is more suitable to evaluate the results.
