Summary:In past decades, Aluminum composites have found their application in aerospace and automobile sectors. Because of their high strength to weight ratio and low density, they have been used in different areas to replace the application of iron and steels. Researchers to fabricate aluminum composite have used different types of reinforcing materials like Nano tubes, ceramics and different types of fibers. This work represents the fabrication of aluminum composite reinforced by fly ash. Fly ash with different weight percent (0 wt%, 1 wt%, 2 wt% and 4 wt%) have been reinforced in aluminum matrix through friction stir processing. Results of tests have proclaimed that with increase in percentage of fly ash in aluminum matrix, mechanical and tribological properties have enhanced. Composite with 2 wt% fly ash has shown the best results among all the fabricated composites.
