Summary:The cement industry is the primary source for environmental pollution as it intakes a huge amount of energy in the production and releases a lot of CO2, which contributes to global warming. To reduce these effects, cement is partially substituted with the combination of fly ash (FA) and silica fume (SF) to produce a ternary blended mix concrete. This study is focused on the behaviour of ternary blended concrete mix of M30 grade with respective of mechanical properties. A total of 180 specimens (60 cubes, 60 cylinders and 60 prisms) were prepared to test the properties. Different combinations of percentage replacements of cement by FA (20%, 30%, 40%) and SF (5%, 7.5%, 10%) were adopted for the making of blended concrete mix. A ternary mix at a combination of 62.5% cement, 30% FA and 7.5% SF exhibited best properties viz compressive, split tensile and flexural strengths.
