Summary:Self curing of concrete by the use of pre-saturated lightweight aggregates is well established method of counteracting self-desiccation and autogenous shrinkage. In this present study comparison of self curing concrete properties are carried out with LECA as self-curing agents for water retention. Lightweight aggregate (LECA) 0%, 10%, 15%, 20% by volume were selected in this study. M30 grade concrete was considered as reference mix and a strength property of reference mix was determined. The mechanical properties like Compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength are determined periodically up to 28 days of curing. Concrete with LECA gives the best results under all curing regimes; significant water retention and good mechanical properties.
