Summary:Films of ZnS doped with Mn have been produced by the organometallic chemical vapor deposition (OMCVD) technique and given preliminary laboratory tests in nonoptimized ac and dc coupled EL device. It is shown that OMCVD films yield interesting EL performance in both types of devices and that a composite dc film/powder device offers potential advantages over a "pure" dc powder device. Finally a brief description is given of the performance of OMCVD films in a thin-film-only device using MnO 2 for current control.
