INTERACTION OF HUMIC ACIDS WITH SOME FLUORESCENT PROBES

The fluorescent probes, tris (2, 2' -bipyridine) ruthenium (II) chloride and pyrene, were used to study the interaction of humic acids with organic compounds. The emission intensities of these probes decrease with the addition of humic acid and linear Stern-Volmer plots were obtained. The bindi...

Summary:The fluorescent probes, tris (2, 2' -bipyridine) ruthenium (II) chloride and pyrene, were used to study the interaction of humic acids with organic compounds. The emission intensities of these probes decrease with the addition of humic acid and linear Stern-Volmer plots were obtained. The binding constants calculated for Ru(II)-probe and pyrene are very similar in spite of the difference in ionic character of these probes.
