Summary:This article introduces a type of stochastic model, which we call a multiphase stochastic model, for the particle transport in bubbling fluidized beds, making it possible to take into account the finite velocity of fluidization bubbles and also extra particle transport due to "gulf streaming." An extended analysis of experimental results for particle transport in fluidized beds with gulf streaming is given, and results from the model are compared with the experimental results, showing that the model accounts for the effects seen.
