A USEFUL SYNTHETIC METHOD FOR ALPHA-CYANO SELENIDES

Alpha-cyano selenides 2 and alpha-cyano seleno-acetals 5 were synthesized by the reaction of seleno-acetals 1 and seleno ortho esters 4 with TMSCN in the presence of a Lewis acid, respectively. Alpha-cyano seleno-acetals 5 were very stable toward various Lewis acids at room temperature.
