Summary:Derivatives of 4,4'-bis(2,2-diphenylvinyl)biphenyl (DPVBi) were prepared and investigated for application in green and red fluorescent emitters in organic electroluminescent (EL) devices. Although the green emitter showed yellowish green electroluminescence, a series of pi-conjugated compounds revealed the potential for a red-green-blue (RGB) fluorescent system.
