Leaf area of cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) can be estimated quickly and accurately using the mathematical relationship between linear measurements of leaves which relate leaf area (Y) to the product of length (L) and breadth (B).The most accurate relationship is Y = K (LB) with K = 0.923 + 0.004. Zusammenfassung Nichtdestruktive Bestimmung der Blattfläche bei Cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium [L.] Schott) Die Blattflache von Cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) kann rasch und zuverlässig über die mathematische Beziehung zwischen linearen Messungen der Blatter, die zur Blattfläche (Y) als Produkt der Länge (L) und der Breite (B) stehen, abgeschätzt werden. Die am besten geeignete Beziehung ist Y = K (LB); wobei K = 0,923 + 0,004 beträgt.
