Effect of Aloe Vera Extract on Reducing Aflatoxin B1 in Eggs of Laying Hen and Egg Yolk Oxidative Stability

Aloe vera extract's effect on Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) residue and yolk oxidative stability was examined in yolk samples. The results indicated that residue of AB1 in AF-Aloe (100 and 300 ppm) treated groups were lower than the control groups on day 14 and was not detected on day 28. The lipid perox...

Summary:Aloe vera extract's effect on Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) residue and yolk oxidative stability was examined in yolk samples. The results indicated that residue of AB1 in AF-Aloe (100 and 300 ppm) treated groups were lower than the control groups on day 14 and was not detected on day 28. The lipid peroxidation level in all groups was significantly (p<0.05) lower than the positive control group. The weight, production, and carotenoid of eggs were not statistically significant between the groups. These results indicate that Aloe vera extract can be effective in diminishing AFB1.
